Press Release from the Mohawk Valley Breastfeeding Network
December 31, 2020 Utica, NY
Celebrating New Year 2021 with the Launch of Susie’s Breastfeeding Café
The members of The Mohawk Valley Breastfeeding Network are eager to announce that the Mohawk Valley Breastfeeding Café is acquiring a new name, to be known from now on as Susie’s Breastfeeding Café. This change, beginning immediately, is chosen to commemorate the legacy of our extraordinary founder Susan Niedzielski, RD, IBCLC.
Susie was a tremendous force for loving support throughout our Central New York communities. She generously devoted decades of personal and professional time to supporting mothers and families in all aspects breastfeeding and nurturing infants, babies, and toddlers. Susie was also an exceptionally loving mother and wife, as well as an incredibly kind and uplifting friend.
Susie’s family and friends made our nonprofit organization the recipient of donations in Susie’s memory, so that we can continue the work that she began and so passionately continued through out her life. She wanted all newborns and their parents to have access to the best start in life. Today, our founder Susie continues to be an Angel for mothers and babies.
We will be soon announcing new yearly lactation scholarship opportunities we will be offering as part of Susie’s Niedzielski fund. We want to ensure Susie’s legacy continues by supporting aspiring lactation professionals.
We welcome all expectant moms and new moms to join our weekly community baby cafés, which Susie brought to life. This winter we are meeting virtually by ZOOM. Helpful information and meeting updates are posted on our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/BreastfeedingCafe
Join us in celebrating the promise of 2021, as we renew our founding mission: to nurture newborns, create a safe space for new moms, and promote a culture of breastfeeding support in Central New York.
